The face behind the student

My name is Morgen Cvetko and I have always had a yearning to travel.

Growing up during school holidays my parents would always take me and my brother on vacation. At the age of 20, thanks to my parents, I have been to 22 of the 50 states (including Hawaii), and to Canada.

I also had the opportunity to study abroad for my junior year of high school, in a small town in Italy. I lived in Udine Italy for a just 4 days short of a year. It was an amazing experience that allowed me to learn so much about a foreign culture, and that experience furthered my yearning to travel.

While living in Italy I had the opportunity to visit hundreds of places in Italy and even some surrounding countries. My favorite place I visited in Italy was Florence – a town full of art and history.

Only getting to visit the towns in the surrounding countries for a few days, left me wanting to know more about the people in those towns and their cultures.

I think that my year aboard planted the seed for my crazy idea.

Since my return from my trip, traveling I found myself missing something, but that something is nonexistence traveling to new places and meeting new people.

We live in a world that is constantly fighting each other over our differences when in reality we aren’t that different at all. We all have cultures that date back hundreds of years, we all have traditions and ideas that make us different, we all – well most of us – want to live in a more peaceful world. And living in a more peaceful world is possible if we learn to understand that just because a culture is different, that doesn’t make them bad or less than another.

So in a jist, I am a young woman who wants to make a difference in the world through love, happiness, and acceptance – seems kind of silly and cliche I suppose, but that’s who I am. Not that I am a cliche, because I really and truly believe that I am unique and stand out in a crowd, but I share beliefs and hopes with many people.
