A College Student With a Crazy Idea

A college student with a crazy idea

It is hard at the age of 20 to make lifelong decisions.

People are constantly asking me what I want to do, and I can honestly say I have no earthly idea what I want to do. I know that I want to write and I know I want to learn about the culture of others. So, writing and traveling is what I want to do. However, I know that being a travel blogger, unless I become one of the best, I will won’t make a lot of money. And I also know I will never know unless I try and take the risk.

I have read countless books on how people have dropped out of school and taken on great challenges to obtain the happiness they are searching for in life. One guy, I read about pledge a vow of silence, he literally doesn’t speak anymore, to anyone.

Another person moved to Jerusalem to study her heritage. One-person bike around Europe – many people have done this – but he did it alone.

So many people drop everything and find happiness in crazy adventures that allow them to really live their lives.

I asked myself some questions…

1.     Are you happy?
No
2.     What are you going to do about it?
I am going to do my research, on myself and what does make me happy, and how I can finically afford to do the things that make me happy and make a living doing those things
3.     What makes you happy now?
The support I receive from my friends and family, dogs, communicating with people, learning about different cultures, being outdoors, traveling, and water.
4.     What is the crazy idea that you have burning in the back of your mind?
I want to make a travel blog – writing and video -  about the people I meet in my life from different cultures and tell their stories, learn about a day in their life.
5.     How are you going to do that?
Well first I need to buy a camera that allows me to take videos, save up a good amount of money, and after that, I have no clue.

So from what I gathered, I need to do some research and make some money.

I know this will not be an easy journey, but life isn’t supposed to be easy, and during our lives, we are faced with many challenges, but we cannot let those challenges stop us from living.

So this is the beginning of the crazy idea I have burning in the back of my mind. There is the potential that I will fail miserably, but there is also the chance that this crazy idea will become a way of life for me.
